Reelfoot Lake is world famous for being one of the greatest natural fish hatcheries. Anglers fish for more than 50 species including Reelfoot's "Big Three" of crappie, bass and bluegill. The area was heavily forested and the remains of this cypress forest are still found above and beneath the lakes waters making it excellent for fishing. Reelfoot is located on the Mississippi Flyway making it outstanding for duck and goose hunting. You don't have to hunt or fish to enjoy wildlife. Reelfoot Lake is the winter home of the American Bald Eagle which often perch in trees surrounding Cypress Point Resort.
